Videographer - Lion Health Lab (Part-Time, Remote)
JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Lion Health Lab, directed by Dr. Janette Watkins in the Department of Kinesiology at Penn State University, seeks a creative and self-motivated Videographer to support digital media production for research communication, recruitment, and outreach.
The Lion Health Lab's mission is to "Protect the Pride-building brain and heart health one generation at a time." The lab conducts community-based, family-focused health promotion and physical activity interventions, translating science into accessible and engaging public communication.
This position is fully remote and ideal for a skilled professional interested in visual storytelling, video editing, and social media content creation that highlights research impact and community partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Record, edit, and produce short- and long-form video content highlighting lab projects, community programs, and research findings.
  • Create promotional materials for the lab's website, YouTube, and social media platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels, highlight videos).
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and lab team to plan, storyboard, and ensure brand alignment with Penn State and Lion Health Lab standards.
  • Edit and organize media files, ensuring accessibility and consistency across communication channels.
  • Maintain a professional, creative approach to storytelling that aligns with the university's mission and standards for research communication.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in video production, editing, and post-production.
  • Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
  • Strong visual storytelling and creative direction skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
