About this Job This posting is for two (2) part-time unclassified positions at the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) - Many Campus Salary - $50.00 per hour Days/Times: hours vary, day and/or night; as needed basis. Demonstrated knowledge of safe operating procedures and equipment maintenance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively teach adult learners in both classroom and hands-on settings.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license required. Preferred: NCCER Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain certification.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment. Experience working with workforce development or technical education programs.

Previous teaching or training experience. Physical Requirements: Must have use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects and controls. Must be sufficiently mobile to work in a classroom and/or outdoor environment with vehicles/equipment and students daily.

Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform hands-on demonstrations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Job Specification Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is seeking a qualified Part-Time Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Instructor to provide classroom and hands-on instruction for students preparing for careers in the heavy equipment industry. The instructor will deliver high-quality training in the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, and productivity of a variety of heavy equipment while fostering a positive learning environment that prepares students for entry-level employment. Job Duties and Other Information Deliver classroom and practical instruction in heavy equipment operation, safety, and maintenance.

Demonstrate proper operation of equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, and other construction equipment. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and BPCC policies. Develop lesson plans, administer assessments, and evaluate student performance.

Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and training documentation. Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Promote professionalism, workplace readiness, and safe work habits.

Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement activities as requested. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment. Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
