Job description

Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Structural Inspector for our client, a dynamic and growing engineering and design firm with an office in Pittsburgh, PA.
Currently, our client is providing Engineering and Asset Integrity Inspection Services for a variety of customers in the following industries:
  • Chemicals
  • General Heavy Manufacturing
  • Metals (ferrous and nonferrous)
  • Petrochemicals
  • Power Generation (fossil)
  • Refining
  • Pulp and Paper
Our primary work product includes the following:
  • Asset Evaluations
  • Confined Space Audits
  • Critical Structures Management® Programs
  • Tank Inspections
  • Crane and Crane Runway Inspections
  • Knowledge of OSHA Crane Inspections a plus
  • Similar with CMAA Crane Classifications and Standards
  • Due Diligence
  • Fall Protection
  • Hoisting and Lifting Devices
  • Mechanical Integrity
  • Safe Workplace Programs
Projects: Heavy industrial/consulting engineering
Focus: Asset Integrity Inspection Services throughout Heavy Industry

This position is well suited to an individual with minimal experience levels such as an associate's degree in the technical curriculum. It will involve utilizing the our client's Critical Structures Management Program and Techniques to the fullest extent, and leveraging its field results into continuing engineering projects. The successful candidate will possess good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills as well as a Civil/Structural Engineering degree or at a minimum an Associate's Degree in a related Engineering Discipline.
Must be willing and able to work at heights, and be fitted with an OSHA approved half face respirator (clean shaven, no beard). A current valid driver's license is a strict requirement.
Candidate must possess excellent communications and listening skills, and pay attention to detail. These positions require a high level of direct customer contact.
Experience with Microsoft Products and/or AutoCAD is required.
Individuals with the following certifications will be given opportunities to pursue certifications in the following categories:
  • API 510
  • API 570
  • API 653
  • ASNT TC-1A Level II, MT, PT, LT and VT
  • BSME
  • BSCE
