Mark Thomas is hiring a Project Surveyor II to join our team! The role of a Project Surveyor II is to perform their assigned duties with greater independence and proficiency with less rigorous oversight from the Survey Manager. The Project Surveyor II can independently act in responsible charge of small to medium-sized projects of moderate complexity while managing parts of large and more complex projects to gain more practical project experience "on the job". This role is comfortable managing projects and interacting with project teams and clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Acts in responsible charge of assigned survey project deliverables, ensuring timely and quality delivery within budget
• Communicates often and clearly with the project team, including survey team members in the office and field and subconsultants, internal clients, and external clients
• Performs quality checks on works performed by survey project team members and subconsultants on a regular basis per Company Quality Management Processes (QMP)
• Assists in writing scope of work and fee estimates for projects
• Designs field surveys
• Reviews and reduces all field data
• Researches and interprets existing recorded property information; resolves issues
• Performs boundary and Right of Way resolutions
• Performs field inspections and site walks
• Performs quality checks on team members CADD mapping work, legal descriptions, and other survey documents
QUALIFICATIONS:
• PLS in state assignment or PLS in another state with the ability to obtain PLS in state of assignment within one year
• 6-12+ years of relevant and progressively responsible survey experience
• Basic project management skills with respect to deliverables, budget, schedule, and quality
• Knowledge of survey drafting software
• Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of survey calculations, principles, terms, and deliverables
• Knowledge of survey processing software such as Trimble Business Center (TBC)
• Demonstrates effective written & verbal skills
• Ability to use sound judgement and follow Company standards and practices as it relates to safety
• Possession of a valid driver's license; meets Company driver eligibility requirements
