Essential Functions:

  • Performs radiographic examinations; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
  • Able to perform more complex operating room procedures as well as fluoroscopic and overhead procedures and more complex portable exams if applicable to the location of outpatient center.
  • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Properly processes images using digital technology., Able to resolve exceptions in PACs and EHR systems and has the ability to cancel unnecessary orders upon request of providers(site specific)
  • Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
  • Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
  • Evaluates recorded images for technical quality. , consistently maintains a repeat rate under 5%.
  • Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills with capability of taking on a charge role if needed.
  • Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed; participates in at least 1 project including but not limited to: equipment QA (monthly, quarterly testing), creating standards of work, engagement committee.
  • Becomes proficient in optional cross-trained skills(site specific) of EKGs and/or phlebotomy.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Able to take on call responsibilities to meet the needs of the department. On call requirements are defined separately by each entity.
