Description
Under general supervision, assume evening/weekend shift management responsibilities of the Club to ensure that personnel deliver the highest quality service to all members and guests, and that the building is secure and maintained during hours of operation.
SCHEDULE: Friday Morning 4:30am-9:00am and Sunday 9:30-2:00pm
Examples of Duties
1. Maintains a strong floor presence to ensure that staffing is sufficient in all areas, policies and procedures are being adhered to, and customer service standards are being met.
2. Conducts periodic inspections of building to evaluate the condition of the facility to ensure it is clean, safe, and equipment is in proper working condition for members and the general public. Reports problems, needed repairs and related corrective measures to supervisor.
3. Reviews customer complaints and investigate problems for resolution to ensure customers receive an adequate level of service or help with their questions and concerns. Handles the more complex and technical problems and customer inquiries, referring to appropriate staff member as needed.
4. Responds to emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedures, performing first aid and CPR as required; ensures all accident report forms are completed properly for the shift. Reports any matters of concern to supervisor immediately.
5. Open and/or close and secure the building, setting alarms and performing security checks as required.
6. This position is the back up to the part time customer service representative.
  • Greet and assist all guests and members; provide general information about the Club and its programs, activities and schedules
  • Answer and transfer phone calls
  • Monitor member computer check-in

Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of Club policies, procedures, programs and services.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in operating personal computer and ability to enter data to file, change or retrieve information.
  • Ability to deal patiently with problems and complaints and to remain courteous when faced with difficult or angry people and to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner.
  • Ability to supervise, train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to work independently and to plan, assign and monitor work assignments of others.
  • Must be punctual and timely in meeting all job performance requirements, including but not limited to, attendance and tardiness standards and work deadlines.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School graduate, college degree preferred and experience working in a health club or hospitality industry, including two years in a supervisory capacity; or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential job functions.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work environment is safe, pleasant and comfortable. Requires frequent walking and standing. Some lifting of up to 25 lbs. required. Work schedule involves evening and weekend hours.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: CPR/AED Certified or ability to obtain.

Part time employees are not eligible for a full benefits package, but may have limited wellness benefits.
