Description
Join a team that brings fun, fitness, and community to life! As a Program Assistant with Parks & Recreation, you'll play a hands-on role in creating memorable experiences through exciting programs, camps, sports leagues, aquatics activities, enrichment classes, and community events. From helping coordinate activities behind the scenes to supporting participants on-site, you'll help make every program safe, welcoming, and engaging for all ages.
Please note that this is an as-needed position, and hours will vary based on our seasonal programming and event schedule.
What You'll Do:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements for this position include, but are not limited to, those outlined below. All job functions, education and experience, general knowledge and abilities, and physical requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of recreation programs, events, camps, and activities.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for participants and guests.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist with participant check-in, attendance tracking, and activity coordination.
  • Support staff with camps, sports programs, aquatics, enrichment activities, and community events.
  • Enforce program rules, safety procedures, and department policies.
  • Report incidents, concerns, or unsafe conditions to supervisory staff.
  • Assist with equipment, supplies, and general program support while building positive relationships with participants, staff, and community partners.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:
  • A minimum of 15 years of age.
  • Previous experience working with recreational programs, camps, athletics, customer service, or community activities is preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism, and to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, flexible, and committed to providing quality customer service.
