Job description

Location: 1425 Innovation Place, West Lafayette, IN

Pay Rate: $20.00 / hour

Additional $1.50/hr shift differential for hours worked on Sat and Sun.

Schedule: Part time: ** Preferred Saturday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm OR

Saturday-Monday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm OR

Friday - Sunday, 6:00 am โ€“ 2:30 pm

Day in the life of a Production Tech:

Team members arrive and enter a locker room/gowning area where they put on their PPE (hair net, Tyvek coveralls, safety glasses, and shoe covers) then proceed to the production area. Once in the production area team members will be expected to:

  • Introduce the required materials to their workstation,
  • Follow written instructions to perform required tasks and accurately document completion of each task. Tasks require a great deal of attention to detail, dexterity, and precision.
  • Perform 75% of the tasks standing.
  • Work in close proximity with a team of 2-4 people.
  • Accurately weigh, mix, and dispense chemicals agents.
  • Understand requirements for properly disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Immediately notify Supervisor of any deviation from the process or material that does not meet specification.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties

  • Conducts individual tasks including weighing, mixing, and dispensing chemicals in addition to cleaning tasks and documentation.
  • Operates standard and specialized lab equipment.
  • Identifies safety hazards and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • While not required, lab, cleanroom, or production experience is preferred.
  • Able to work with multiple persons in a team environment.
  • Excellent attendance with willingness to work some weekends and OT.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Able to do routine computer data entry tasks.
  • Able to accurately measure, add and subtract.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Move or lift heavy objects 26 to 50 lbs
  • Frequent (>75%) stationary position, standing, using a glovebox
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Cleanroom environment with limited exposure to hazardous chemicals used in the manufacture of the product.
