Heska information
What is the difference between Heska vs Veterinary Technician?
| Aspect | Heska | Veterinary Technician |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | Typically no formal certification required; may involve sales or technical training | Licensed or certified; usually requires a veterinary technician degree and state licensure |
| Work Environment | Primarily in veterinary clinics, hospitals, or sales settings; involves product demonstrations and technical support | In veterinary clinics or hospitals; directly assists veterinarians with patient care |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors of veterinary products like Heska | Veterinary clinics, hospitals, and animal care facilities |
Heska roles focus on sales, technical support, and product knowledge within the veterinary industry, often requiring less formal certification. Veterinary Technicians are licensed professionals providing direct animal care and assisting veterinarians. While both work in veterinary settings, Heska positions are more sales and support-oriented, whereas Veterinary Technicians are involved in clinical patient care.

Job description
[]Privately and locally owned and operated, Noah's Animal Hospitals values you as an individual medical professional. Our Noah's Caring Hands hospital, located in the Geist area is a busy general practice with a strong veterinary and technical team, has an opening for a veterinarian who has interest in providing lifelong care for companion animals and enhancing the bond with families.
We are looking for a skilled veterinarian interested in providing wellness care as well as illness/injury medicine and surgery. Caring Hands boasts a robust clientele, committed to their companion animals.
Noah's offers great pay, a comprehensive benefits package, a robust profit sharing program that is all positive and easy to understand, 401K, generous Paid Time Off and Continuing Education reimbursement. We believe in work/life balance, and structure schedules to work with the lives of our veterinarians.
Noah's General Practice Hospitals are supported by three emergency facilities, a board-certified surgeon, specialty care, and sophisticated diagnostic equipment to ensure your patients can receive the spectrum of care, within our system of hospitals.
Should the need arise, your patient can be seen at a Noah's Emergency facility, and care can be coordinated within our system. This allows you input and dialogue with other veterinarians about your general practice patient, as you prefer.
Our top of the line equipment includes, but is not limited to, digital radiography, CT, ultrasound, digital dental x-ray and in-house Heska Lab equipment. Eight of our practices are AAHA accredited and one carries the unique distinction of an AAHA Accredited Referral Practice.
New members to our DVM family can expect personalized mentoring as well as ongoing support found through our network over 30 doctors. Noah’s Animal Hospitals also places a heavy emphasis on continuing education and personal development. Our doctors from all hospitals interact at monthly doctor meetings, and collaborate freely.
