EcoServices, LLC, the premier provider of on-wing gas turbine aero engine washes (www.ecopower.aero) is seeking candidates for an open Part-Time position at our LAX facility.

CANDIDATES MUST BE CERTIFICATED UNDER 14 C.F.R. PART 65 TO BE CONSIDERED.  CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.

The Part-Time Junior Aviation Service Technician will be responsible for labor support to our Aviation Technicians in the delivery of the on-wing EcoPower jet engine compressor washes at regional airports (see www.ecopowerenginewash.com for more details on the process).  In addition, the Jr. Technician may be required to drive our commercial vehicles (no CDL required) to support the process.

Accordingly, no applicant will be considered unless he/she holds a current and valid U.S. drivers' license and A&P license. The position also requires you to be able to obtain badging at LAX with our sponsorship. This position will be based at EcoServices' Santa Fe Springs, CA facility.

The Junior Aviation Service Technician is a Part-Time, on-call position, and will report directly to the LAX EcoServices Service Center Manager or designee and will be primarily responsible for supporting EcoPower engine wash services to all commercial airline customers.

Schedule and Hours: while workload is expected to be consistent from week to week, the job is of an on-call nature during weeknight shifts, arriving at the shop around 8:00 - 9:00 pm depending on the customer schedule. The actual number of hours worked nightly is variable depending on customer demand, but typically 5 to 8 hours when called in to support. We do not guarantee minimum hours, but based on current and future customer demand, expect 3 to 5 nights per week in the range of 20 to 30 hours weekly. The Station Manager will make efforts to give you a schedule at the end of the prior week for the upcoming week.  However, occasional short notice request may occur. Some day shift and weekend assistance might be requested, but solely on based on your personal availability.

The Junior Aviation Service Technician will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the maintenance of all service center equipment and be engaged in the continuous improvement of all service center processes.
  • Ensuring that all flight-line-related services are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner.
  • Working closely with managers and mechanics from various airlines, foster an understanding of customer engine maintenance and repair considerations or preferences, and will be expected to provide feedback and work towards resolving customer in-service issues.
  • Completing, updating and maintaining internal records/database for all maintenance performed in accordance with our provided FAA procedures.

Requirements

  1. Education: AA/AS degree and/or Technical School Certificate desired.
  2. Licensure & Experience: Applicants must be certificated under 14 C.F.R. Part 65 (FAA Airframe & Powerplant). A broad knowledge of engine hardware and flight line operations/procedures as well as familiarity with the safe operation of heavy equipment and ground support equipment around aircraft is expected. Aviation maintenance experience is a requirement. Must hold a valid & current U.S. driver's license.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Must comply with FAA drug & alcohol pool, DOT and FMCSA requirements. EcoServices is an FAA regulated facility and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.
  4. Scheduling: Variable, no minimum hours guaranteed, but range of 12-15 hours/week is currently expected. Typically, late evening/overnight work will be required. Some daytime scheduling may be requested, as available.
