JOB SUMMARY:
The Utah Jazz are looking for a hard-working Photography Intern to join an amazing content team. This role will focus on shooting photos for sponsorship and marketing fulfillments, helping to tag and organize photo assets and helping the overall marketing group get the shots they need to bring the Utah Jazz to life for fans. Working alongside our marketing department and Utah Jazz team photographer, this internship will provide you with hands-on experience in creating content for an NBA franchise and help you sharpen your skills in photography as you pursue a career in sports marketing. If you're comfortable in a fast-paced environment and balancing the needs of many groups, then you might be a great fit.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must be available on game nights (nights and weekends).
  • Fulfill sponsorship photo requirements.
  • Assist the Utah Jazz team photographer in capturing game action.
  • Tagging, sorting and organizing photos.
  • Help to edit in-game photos and help get them sorted into player photos for use after the game.
  • Be available to shoot community and sponsorship activations.
  • Aid in team store product shoots.
  • Help the Utah Jazz team photographer with production needs (shoots, lighting, ideation, quality control).
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Fulfill photo editing requests.
  • Ideate concepts for varied platforms.
  • Execute projects and responsibilities in a timely manner, communicating effectively with your direct manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
  • Previous experience in a professional photo environment, especially in pro or college sports, is preferred.
  • Open to feedback and learning from a variety of sources across the organization.
  • Acts with diplomacy and tact, especially in a hectic game-night setting.
  • Stays up to date in photography trends both in and out of sports.
  • Willing to innovate.
  • Takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions and failures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Undergraduate Junior or Senior studying Advertising, English, Journalism, Photography, or a related field OR recent graduate.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher, if still in school.
  • Knowledge of basketball and the NBA is preferred.
  • Able to work nights and weekends.
  • Link with previous photo work is required.
  • Proficient in media asset management.
  • Proficient in the Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and problem solving abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 30 lbs.
