Job Description
As a Digital Retouching Specialist at Cricut, you'll bring our visual stories to life through expert retouching, compositing, color grading, and digital image creation. Working closely with photographers, producers, art directors, and creative teams, you'll transform raw photography into polished, customer-centric imagery that inspires customers to think, "Cricut is for me," while showcasing the quality and creativity of our products.
You'll be responsible for retouching lifestyle and product photography, creating seamless composites, extending environments, maintaining color consistency, and preparing final assets for multiple marketing channels. You'll also embrace emerging AI-powered creative tools to enhance efficiency and expand creative possibilities while maintaining the craftsmanship and authenticity that define the Cricut brand.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional technical expertise with a strong artistic eye, outstanding attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of work while consistently delivering beautiful, production-ready imagery.
A portfolio is required. Before-and-after examples demonstrating your retouching and compositing work are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Retouch, composite, color grade, and prepare high-quality lifestyle and product photography for digital, print, retail, packaging, and marketing campaigns.
  • Create seamless composites, set extensions, object replacements, and other advanced image manipulations while maintaining a natural, believable final image.
  • Leverage AI-assisted creative tools alongside traditional retouching techniques to improve efficiency, solve creative challenges, and enhance image quality while maintaining brand standards.
  • Collaborate closely with photographers, Art Directors, producers, and other creative partners to understand creative intent, cropping requirements, and final deliverables.
  • Manage image workflows including RAW processing, proofing, feedback implementation, asset organization, keywording, and delivery through Cricut's digital asset management system.
  • Maintain consistency across color, lighting, composition, and photographic style while helping evolve Cricut's visual standards.
  • Partner with freelance retouchers and external creative partners as needed to ensure quality and consistency.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (A.A.S.) or higher in Photography, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional retouching experience in a commercial photography, creative agency, or in-house brand environment.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating advanced retouching, compositing, color grading, and image manipulation across lifestyle and product photography.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop with extensive experience in Adobe Lightroom and Camera RAW workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to create seamless composites while matching lighting, perspective, color, texture, and photographic style.
  • Experience using AI-assisted creative tools as part of a professional retouching workflow, or a demonstrated curiosity and willingness to adopt emerging technologies responsibly.
  • Strong understanding of non-destructive editing workflows, layer organization, color management, file preparation, and output for multiple channels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Experience working with premium consumer brands and high-end product photography is strongly preferred.
