Job description

Are you an accounting professional who is ready for a new challenge and a mostly remote and flexible work environment? Would you love to use your accounting knowledge and skills in new and different ways, plus also have the opportunity to be involved in some new tasks that you might not have done before? Then this opportunity might be a great fit for you!
Our client, a metro-Atlanta financial firm that caters to high-net-worth clients, is looking for a Permanent, Part-time Personal Finance Manager to join its team. This individual will act as a personal CFO to some clients' family units to handle their accounting needs, assist with tax preparation, and complete a wide variety of other tasks associated with insurance, rental properties, and other areas. The job requires approximately 25 hours of work each week and can be worked on a flexible schedule during normal business hours. ( 30 hours a week is also an option, if desired.) About 75% of your work can be done from your home office. The remaining 25% of your work schedule will be:

  • attending twice monthly team meetings at the ROAM facility in the Galleria area
  • making in-person visits to clients' homes in the Buckhead, Midtown and Northside Drive areas

If you are in a season of life where a part-time work schedule is ideally what you need or want, this opportunity will provide the flexibility you need. If you ideally need full-time work hours and health insurance, please don't apply.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist clients with managing their complex personal finances
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties such as bill paying, reviewing and posting transactional data in Quicken, Quickbooks, Google Sheets & Excel, account reconciliation, and general ledger balancing
  • Create general financial statements and conduct analyses
  • Assist with gathering documents needed for tax filing purposes
  • Respond promptly to ad hoc client requests and maintain ongoing communication
  • Become a trusted advisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Previous experience performing full-charge bookkeeping or accounting services for high net-worth individuals would be ideal, but previous small business bookkeeping experience is suitable
  • Professional experience in the personal/trust tax preparation arena is desired
  • Proficient in the Google Suite of products, to include Google Sheets
  • Willingness to learn and become proficient with Quicken, Quickbooks & Excel
  • Willing to wear many hats in servicing the clients – some bookkeeping in nature, some more analytical, some more administrative
  • Confidence in interacting with executive personalities and demeanors and being able to challenge/push back when necessary
  • Professional experience interacting with internal and external customers is desired
  • Must be available to work and travel to clients’ homes during normal business hours

Compensation: $38-40 per hour, mileage reimbursements, PTO, and the opportunity to participate in a SIMPLE IRA plan with a 3% company match.
