SUMMARY

Exhibits prompt and polite service to the members and guests. Serves as the liaison between the kitchen and servers. Ensures that food trays are distributed to the appropriate tables and serves food to guests. Responsible for preparing service stations, clearing and resetting tables, removing all trays from the dining/banquet rooms and cleaning and closing service stations. Expeditors are the last line of defense to make sure each piece of food is safe, prepared correctly and tasty.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no managerial responsibilities in this role.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

Consistently performs the job to a high degree over an extended period of time. Reliable, punctual and openly and honestly communicates with Management.  Highly regarded by Members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists servers.
  • Ensures all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service.
  • Carefully matches all food items to correct orders both a la carte and Takeout.
  • Carries food trays to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket.
  • Maintains cleanliness of service stations in kitchen while ensuring that the kitchen is free from clutter and that the kitchen floor is a clean and safe work area.
  • Reports complaints to manager on duty when received.
  • Opens meeting rooms and function areas prior to the start of the meetings and functions.
  • Verifies that all scheduled functions are set according to Banquet Event Order specifications.
  • Sets up indoor meeting and outdoor banquet function areas with the appropriate equipment and materials, including tables, chairs, glasses, china and any other items requested.
  • Inspects equipment for defects, cleanliness or any maintenance that needs to be completed and reported to supervisor.
  • Prepares all banquet functions for the following day according to the supervisor’s directions and Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Assembles orders both for inhouse or to go.
  • Knowledge of proper food layout and presentation of all menu items
  • Liaison between servers and kitchen staff
  • Ensures that order tickets are properly placed
  • Responsible for timing of food orders and alerts management if there is a backlog
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards based on health regulations. 
  • Complete daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance of equipment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Standing and walking during entire 8-hour shift
  • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weight on a semi regular basis

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of related experience or training.
