Job Description:

The IT Intern applies basic understanding of PC build fundamentals and looks for process improvement ideas. Quick to learn and understand enterprise PC building software tools after initial training and gain corporate PC build experience.

This Intern will join a global team that provides support for PC hardware and software support to 1,500 global employees. This position will focus on PC delivery to employees in the US and identify PC build process improvements. The PC Specialist Intern will learn and work with enterprise tools to help deploy new PC's in a quick and efficient manner.

Preference will be given to candidates who are based in the St. Louis area and available to continue part-time during the academic year

Responsibilities

  • Ability to multitask and stay organized with multiple work streams simultaneously.

  • Ability toprovide professional written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to remain customer focused with all aspects of the job.

  • Configures, assembles and installs laptops, workstations and/or peripheral equipment.

  • PC configuration and troubleshooting skills.

  • Update and maintain team documentation.

  • May provide user orientation on standard hardware or software.

Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Operations Systems.

  • 6 months experience with PC support or PC builds preferred.

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and providing support for IT-related issues.

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices.

  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field).

  • CompTIA A+ Certification or progress is preferred.
