What does the position of Payroll Tax Accountant entail?

  • Handle day-to-day activities related to the reporting of client/employee payroll taxes and the compliance department
  • Daily exception handling of tax liability from our HRIS to MasterTax
  • Reconcile daily tax liability from our HRIS to MasterTax
  • Research/Resolve any discrepancies between the liabilities
  • Make various state and local tax payments via websites, or cutting checks
  • Reconcile quarter and annual tax liability to what has been keyed into the payroll system for W2s
  • Enter tax notices into CRM > Resolve Local tax notices
  • Assist with compliance and license returns for all states
  • Assist with PEO state registration
  • Assist with PEO monthly/quarterly/annual reporting
  • *Must be available for extended hours during key tax periods (quarter/year-end)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
