Culinary Aide - Part Time

Company Overview: 

Cornerstone Management oversees multiple Assisted Living communities dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for seniors. Our mission is to foster safe, engaging, and person-centered environments where residents can thrive while preserving their independence and dignity.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing food service to the residents of Cornerstone Management Communities in a positive and friendly manner.  Services may include – related services, set-up and clean-up of dining room, food preparation, serving food, and dishwashing.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating meals according to menu and standards.
  • Support safe food handling practices, including hygiene, temperature control, and food storage.
  • Set up dining room, serve meals, and ensure a clean, welcoming dining experience for residents.
  • Operate dishwasher and maintain cleanliness of dishware, kitchen tools, and dining areas.
  • Follow cleaning protocols and assist with waste disposal and recycling.
  • Communicate with residents and respond to dining requests with care and professionalism.
  • Support the mission and values of Cornerstone Management Communities.

Qualifications:

  • High School education/GED or previous work experience.
  • Experience in working with older adults.

  • Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.  
  • Prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Possess skills to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and other customers.
  • Possess the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and documentation, including medical terminology, in English.
  • Be punctual with a good attendance record.
  • Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • Understand how to use, carry and be responsible for the cell phone while on duty.
