POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently searching for a Registered Nurse Pre OP/PACU who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. Responsible for coordinating intra-operative care of the patient and indirectly responsible through coordination and information sharing of both pre - and post - operative care.
This position will begin as Part-Time transitioning to Full-Time over the next couple months.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide nursing care to a diverse population in a multi-specialty environment.
  • Coordinate patient care, including admission, planned surgery, discharge, transfer to higher level of care and any appropriate referrals. Assesses, monitor and communicate to the provider changes in condition and potential or actual problems.
  • Assess the patient, reviews patient's medical record and required documents to ensure all information consistent with the planned procedure and patient's confirmation, ensuring pre-requisites and preferences are met. Provide education, discharge planning and intervention to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Document all interventions and activities per standards of care. Ensures safety checklists, interventions and procedures are implemented and documented as appropriate.
  • Perform and documents pre/post procedure assessment/evaluation/education of patient.
  • Responds to life threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
  • Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.
  • Overall patient engagement and experience, including the Center's Patient Satisfaction performance.
  • Adhere to the Center's professional conduct policies.
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality.
  • Perform related work and other duties as required.

Position Qualifications:
  • Minimum Experience: 6 months of Pre-op/PACU/ Special Procedures experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience. Preferred: bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Required BLS/ACLS Preferred: PALS
