Job description

SUMMARY

As a Physician Assistant, your clinical skills and superior customer service in providing medical care leads to a positive, effective patient experience.The PA in this role will float to different WorkReady locations.

STATUS: Part Time (24 hours)

LOCATION: WorkReady Locations

DEPARTMENT: Employee and Occupational Health

SCHEDULE: Days, Monday-Friday

ATTRIBUTES

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care. Synthesize and interpret history, physical examination and diagnostic testing data; develop a diagnosis, initiate treatment and health maintenance plan; select and order appropriate diagnostic and health maintenance procedures; refer patients to collaborating physician, specialist and/or appropriate community services or agencies; prescribe medication, perform minor procedures and coordinate treatment

  • Leadership. Provide health education, instruction, guidance and advisement to patients regarding medication and treatment; counsel family members and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs

  • Administrative Duties. Perform administrative functions to include completing insurance and when time permits, medical discharge documentation, providing guidance and teaching to ancillary personnel, communicating with and counseling family members, preparing daily billing sheets. Prepare complete chart entries on patient interactions, writing orders and recording progress notes

EDUCATION:

BS: Physician Assistant (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
