Overview
The Coachella Valley Lakers are looking for a high-energy and meticulous Game Night Statistician to handle all game setup, create all statistical documents, and ensure accurate completion of programs and games. To succeed in this role, you will need a deep understanding of basketball and thrive in a dynamic environment.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $22.00 - $26.00

Responsibilities
  • Handle all pre-game setup, including statistics equipment, clocks, rosters, and game officials as necessary.
  • Compare pre-game input of game officials and rosters and have a clear understanding of the clock system and its functions.
  • Craft and update all statistics information accurately and effectively throughout the entire game.
  • Validate all statistics with IDS program and communicate with NBA Help Desk to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize and submit all final game files and documents.
  • Communicate effectively, have good judgment, and collaborate with teams in a positive manner.
  • Multitasks and works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work home games and other events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience and significant understanding of scoring systems used in professional sports leagues.
  • Previous stat/clock experience with professional, college, or high school teams strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of rules and regulations of basketball and the NBA.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office and statistics equipment and able to attend NBA IDS Statistical Training.
  • Excellent understanding of the playing rules, bylaws, and scoring pertinent to the NBA, including current understanding of NBA scoring and statistics.
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand NBA playing rules, bulletins, policies, and procedures as distributed by the NBA.
  • Able to operate video review equipment, communication equipment, and other technology introduced by the league to effectively officiate the game.
  • Able to work effectively within a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment with extreme focus and concentration.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to work effectively in a team.
  • Able to demonstrate a calm demeanor, discretion, and professionalism in potentially emotional situations.
  • Must be available to work all Coachella Valley Lakers home games (pre-season, regular, and post-season).
  • Team player with a positive attitude, professionalism, resourcefulness, integrity, motivation, and a strong work ethic.
