Job description

A-MED Ambulance Service is hiring Paramedics who want a real call mix, clinical work that keeps you sharp, and a team that takes patient care as seriously as you do.
About A-MED
A-MED is a private EMS provider based in Gretna, Louisiana, with more than 30 years of service across Southeast Louisiana. We run emergency 911 mutual aid, ALS/BLS interfacility transport, non-emergency ambulance, wheelchair van, and Mobile Integrated Health services across Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, and surrounding areas.
The Role
You will provide advanced life support care across a diverse call mix: 911 mutual aid responses, emergency and scheduled interfacility transports, behavioral health transfers, and MIH support.
Our crews respond to real calls, make real clinical decisions, and take care of real people. We are looking for providers who take pride in being clinicians, not just responders, and who bring the same focus to every patient regardless of the call type.
This role requires sound clinical judgment, clear communication, accurate documentation, and the ability to work professionally with everyone you touch: patients, families, facilities, dispatch, medical control, and your crew partner.
What You Will Do
  • Provide ALS assessment, treatment, and transport for emergency and interfacility patients
  • Perform advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, IV/IO access, medication administration, and other ALS interventions within your scope
  • Complete thorough, accurate ePCRs
  • Participate in 911 mutual aid responses in Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, and surrounding areas
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, medication, and controlled substance accountability per A-MED policy
  • Support clinical quality through QA/QI participation
  • Mentor EMTs, AEMTs, and newer providers during shift operations
  • Represent A-MED professionally at every point of contact

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay based on experience and certification
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Continuing education support
  • Diverse call volume where you will actually use your skills
  • Career development within a growing organization
  • Leadership that is accessible, involved, and willing to listen

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Current Louisiana Paramedic certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
  • Current National Registry Paramedic certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or equivalent)
  • Valid Louisiana driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire functional job evaluation
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position, including lifting, moving, and assisting patients safely
  • Ability to complete accurate clinical documentation and follow company policies, protocols, and operational expectations
