Job description

Background:

Established in 1963, The Cardiovascular Care Group provides complete care for patients with vascular disease. With New Jersey offices in Essex, Passaic, Union, Morris, Monmouth, and Mercer counties, the Group is able to deliver care in both office-based and hospital settings.


Job Summary:
We are looking for a Part-time Medical Receptionist/Front Desk that also has Medical Assistant experience to support The Cardiovascular Care Group . The position is in our Denville office, but may travel to our other locations as needed. Patients, visitors and medical staff will turn to you for information and help with administrative issues. Must be compassionate and discrete with superb time management skills along with being computer-savvy. Your goal will be to ensure the smooth workflow, so that our patients receive the best possible care.
To ensure success, you should be confident and professional with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day administration of our group. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient care.


Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Responsibilities will include*:
  • Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone
  • Professionally assist doctors, patients, staff and visitors
  • Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Work with insurance companies to verify insurance
  • Collect co-pays
  • Schedule appointments between doctors and patients
  • Liaise between medical departments with discretion and professionalism
  • Maintain/update electronic medical records; input demographics, scan charts, post vascular readings and other information
  • Perform all duties within HIPPA regulations
  • Provide back-up Medical Assistant support to physicians โ€“ prepare treatment rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, input information to EMR
  • Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient information
  • Assist with creating charts and scheduling appointments for our procedure suite
Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum two+ years of experience as Medical Receptionist/Front Desk, preferably in a busy medical practice or healthcare facility
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and react effectively
  • Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information
  • Excellent documentation, communication and IT skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPPA regulations, ICD and CPT coding (highly advantageous)
  • Strong patient orientation
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree (advantageous)
