Job description

AMI is seeking a part time Receptionist-Technical Aide to join the team in the Toms River office location on Hooper Avenue!  This position is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient Radiology practice.

Part time, 20+ hour per week positions at AMI are eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays, 401k & Profit Sharing.  Health benefits are not currently extended with part time positions.  Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.

The Receptionist-Technical Aide is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Greets patients and visitors promptly upon arrival in a courteous, compassionate, and professional manner, escorting patients to the changing area and providing gown instructions as needed. 
  • Answers incoming telephone calls, makes satisfactory disposition of the calls or transfers to appropriate party.  
  • Maintains surveillance of all patients and visitors in the waiting area.  
  • Schedules appointments, obtains necessary information to input computer data.  
  • Performs clerical functions necessary to process and maintain all records associated with the Practice, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
  • Prepares charts and registers patients. 
  • Takes patient history and processes paperwork.  
  • Monitors the patient in the clinical area when the technologist is elsewhere.  
  • Assist technologists with patient preparation, positioning, and wheelchair transport to ensure timely and safe imaging procedures.   
  • Assists patients with wheelchairs and dressing as needed. 
  • Prepare imaging rooms between patients, ensuring infection control and safety standards are met.   
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of AMI suites, including equipment and supply areas. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

This part time, 20 hour per week position is based in AMI's Toms River office location on Hooper Avenue.

The work schedule includes:

Monday: 6:30am-5pm

Wednesday: 9:30am-8pm

Schedules are subject to change based on office needs.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  An American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days following the start of employment.  Previous experience in a Radiology practice, medical office or hospital is strongly preferred.  Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with standard office equipment is required. 

Qualified candidates demonstrate excellent customer service practices and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.  Candidates must be willing to work in Receptionist and Technical Aide capacities, and be able to safely work in an MR Zone/Magnetic field.
