Part-time media jobs are roles within the media industry—such as journalism, social media management, video production, or content creation—that require employees to work fewer hours than a traditional full-time schedule. These positions can be ideal for students, freelancers, or those seeking flexible work arrangements. Part-time media professionals may work for newspapers, magazines, television stations, digital outlets, or marketing agencies. The responsibilities can range from writing articles and editing videos to managing social media accounts or assisting with production tasks. These roles often provide valuable experience and networking opportunities within the media field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time media professional?

To thrive as a Part Time Media professional, you generally need strong communication skills, creativity, and a foundational understanding of media production or journalism, often supported by relevant coursework or experience. Familiarity with digital editing tools, content management systems, and social media platforms is typically expected. Adaptability, time management, and teamwork are crucial soft skills to excel in fast-paced and collaborative environments. These skills and qualities are important for producing engaging content efficiently and contributing effectively to media projects on a part-time basis.

We are expanding across Richmond, VA and Maryland, and we're looking for ambitious, media-minded Interns who want hands-on experience on location, direct mentorship, and a clear path toward becoming a paid lead media creator.
What You'll Learn & Do

  • Field Training: Shadow lead photographers on active real estate shoots across Richmond or Maryland.
  • Specialized Tech Skills: Learn high-demand industry tools, including CubiCasa (digital floor plans) and Matterport (3D virtual tours).

  • Media Management: Assist with asset organization, file transfers, and learning our same-day media pipeline.
  • Client Relations: Gain real-world experience communicating professionally with real estate agents and homeowners on site.

What We Provide
  • Direct Mentorship: Learn professional techniques, gear workflows, and industry standards from active media pros.
  • Portfolio Assets: Build a professional real estate and architectural media portfolio you can actually showcase.
  • Growth Pathway: Top-performing interns will have the opportunity to transition into paid Contract Photographers taking on their own independent shoots.
  • Flexible Hours: Designed to fit around class schedules or other part-time commitments.

  • Location & Mobility: Based in (or near) Richmond, VA or Maryland with reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Passion for Media: Students or aspiring creatives interested in photography, videography, real estate, or visual marketing.
  • Reliability & Attitude: Punctual, detail-oriented, coachable, and professional on site.
  • Gear: Owning a DSLR/Mirrorless camera is a strong plus, but enthusiasm, reliability, and willingness to learn matter most.
