What is a part time marketing manager?

Part time marketing managers are professionals who oversee and implement marketing strategies for a business or organization while working fewer hours than a full-time employee. Their responsibilities typically include planning marketing campaigns, managing social media, overseeing branding efforts, and analyzing campaign performance. Working part time allows for a flexible schedule, making this role ideal for those seeking work-life balance or managing multiple commitments. They may work in-house or as consultants for several companies. The scope of their duties depends on the employer's needs and the size of the marketing team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time marketing manager?

To thrive as a Part Time Marketing Manager, you need a solid background in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and analytics, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools like Google Analytics is commonly required. Strong organizational skills, creativity, and effective communication help you manage projects and collaborate with diverse teams efficiently. These capabilities are essential to drive impactful marketing initiatives and achieve business goals within limited hours.

How does a part time marketing manager typically collaborate with full time team members and external partners?

Part-time marketing managers often coordinate closely with full-time team members by prioritizing clear communication and well-defined project management tools. They may attend key meetings, set strategic goals, and delegate tasks to ensure campaigns run smoothly even when they're not on-site every day. Collaboration with external partners, such as agencies or freelancers, is usually managed through regular check-ins and shared documentation to maintain alignment. Being proactive and accessible during core business hours helps bridge any gaps, ensuring the team remains cohesive and marketing objectives are met effectively.

  • Capture and edit professional dealership photography and video content featuring new GMC and Cadillac vehicles, pre-owned inventory, service operations, parts and accessories, employee spotlights, customer deliveries, and community involvement.
  • Create short-form video content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other relevant channels.
  • Develop engaging written content, including social-media captions, vehicle highlights, promotional messaging, service offers, email campaigns, website content, event materials, and customer-facing communications.
  • Maintain a consistent, polished, and professional visual identity that reflects the GMC and Cadillac brands as well as Mataga GMC Cadillac’s local reputation.

  • Plan, schedule, publish, and monitor organic social-media content and community engagement.
  • Assist with or manage targeted paid advertising campaigns through Meta platforms, Google Ads, display advertising, video advertising, and retargeting tools.
  • Respond professionally to appropriate customer comments, messages, and online engagement in coordination with dealership leadership and established communication guidelines.
  • Track campaign performance, audience engagement, website traffic, lead volume, and other key performance indicators; share clear recommendations to improve results.
  • Monitor dealership, automotive-market, competitor, and social-media trends to identify content and advertising opportunities.

  • Support traditional search engine optimization (SEO) efforts by researching relevant keywords and improving dealership website pages, vehicle content, service pages, local landing pages, and Google Business Profile activity.
  • Help improve local-search visibility for Mataga GMC Cadillac through accurate online listings, updated location information, photos, posts, reviews support, and customer-focused website content.
  • Apply generative engine optimization (GEO) practices by creating accurate, helpful, well-structured content that can be surfaced by AI-powered search experiences and answer engines. • Use AI tools responsibly to improve content planning, research, drafting, campaign ideation, reporting, and workflow efficiency while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, privacy, and human review.
  • Keep current on changes in social platforms, SEO, AI-powered search, digital advertising, and automotive marketing best practices.
Direct-to-Customer Marketing
  • Create and support direct-to-customer marketing campaigns through email, text messaging, direct mail, social media, website offers, and other approved dealership channels.
  • Promote current vehicle incentives, lease and finance offers, trade-in opportunities, service specials, maintenance reminders, parts and accessory offers, and customer-retention initiatives.
  • Work with sales, service, parts, BDC, and management teams to develop timely, accurate, customer-friendly messaging.
  • Help strengthen customer loyalty by highlighting customer experiences, dealership events, service value, and community involvement.

  • Working knowledge of social-media advertising, paid digital campaigns, content calendars, audience engagement, and marketing analytics.
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals, keyword research, local SEO, and website-content optimization.
  • Familiarity with GEO, AI-powered search, AI-assisted content workflows, or a willingness to learn and apply these evolving practices.
  • Experience with creative and marketing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, email marketing platforms, CRM systems, or similar tools.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and coordinate effectively with sales, service, parts, BDC, and management teams.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to work on-site at Mataga GMC Cadillac and attend occasional off-site events, which may include evening or weekend hours.
