Job description

CGS is looking for an OSC Chief of Logistics / Engineer to support the US Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

As the Opposing Force (OPFOR) Operational Strategic Command (OSC) Chief of Logistics / Engineer, you'll work as part of a team for Warfighter Exercise rotations to support Mission Command Training Program in the planning and execution of Warfighters, Mission Rehearsal Exercises, Seminars, and After-Action Review development. As the Chief of Logistics / Engineer, you will assist the World Class Opposing Forces (WCOPFOR) and OPFOR Support Division with preparation of OPFOR orders other contract deliverables in support of Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). You will participate as necessary in the Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning events, working side-by-side with other exercise planners to plan and execute MCTP Exercise rotations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the Sustainment and Protection warfighting function expert within the OSC.
  • Provides threat logistics, transportation, and engineer expertise to the OSC staff to ensure doctrinal portrayal of those capabilities.
  • Provides logistics and engineer related information for the OSC Command Post (CP) Battle Update Assessment (BUA).
  • Coordinates with OSC staff to facilitate smooth operation of logistics and engineer related unit operations within the simulation (specifically supply, maintenance, medical, and transportation) IAW the competitive commander's plan.
  • Understands and practices OPFOR hybrid threat models
  • Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Army and Joint regulations and current fires doctrine.
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 5% of the time)
  • One or more of the following:
    • BS/BA degree with 5 years of fires related military experience or
    • High School and 10 years of fires related military experience.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Military Education Level (MEL) 4
  • Experience as a former field grade officer, warrant officer, or sergeant major.
  • Successfully served in a key developmental position in a logistical or engineer related position at brigade/battalion level.
  • Experience with Constructive Simulation Models (e.g., Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Warfighters Simulation (WARSIM).
  • Experience with FM 7-100 series OPFOR doctrine.
  • Experience working with the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a customer-focused approach.

Working Conditions: Inside Government training facilities.

Required Travel: Employees will travel to temporary work locations during exercises.
