Job description

What we do: We assist customers in an unlimited capacity including remodels, whole house lighting, custom lighting design, retail, and corporate layouts; you name it, we do it! We train all of our employees and get them ALA (American Lighting Association) certified, have multiple training events each year to ensure we stay on top of what is new, fresh and current in the industry; all while sticking to our motto of delivering Ultimate Customer Service to every individual who chooses to interact with Metro Lighting.

In this role you will:
  • Sell associated products at the showroom.
  • Assist in promotions and advertisements.
  • Read catalog or computer for replacement part stock number and price.
  • Advise customer on substitution or modification of part when part is not available.
  • Fill customer orders from stock.
  • Prepare sales slip and receive payment.
  • Mark and store parts in stockroom or area according to prearranged system. May take inventory of stock.
  • Keep showroom neat and orderly.

On occasion there may be a need to:
  • Place new merchandise on display.
  • Receive, hang, remove, pack, and ship products.

What you bring to the table:
Someone who is comfortable meeting people, helping fulfill their needs in any capacity. Sales experience is desired but not required. We want someone who has a passion for what they do and sees their work as an opportunity, not a job. Some of the skillsets we find valuable are listed below:

Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $18.00 per hour, depending on experience. This position is also incentive eligible, based on specific and relevant business metrics.
Work Shift and Hours: This is a part-time hourly, retail sales position. Shifts vary week to week and include weekends and one possible evening a week (7PM). We strive to have at least one full weekend off each month.
