Job description

Job Posting Information Lincoln City Libraries currently has a part-time (20 hours per week) Library Service Associate position available primarily assigned to the unit of Anderson Branch Library (3635 Touzalin Avenue, Lincoln, NE 68507) and Bethany Branch Library (1810 North Cotner Boulevard, Lincoln, NE 68505) and will regularly work at both locations. This position is not eligible for insurance benefits. This position is eligible for Holiday Pay and will accrue Vacation and Sick Leave.

This position is eligible for the retirement plan after completing six months of employment. Library Service Associates are front-line staff, providing excellent direct customer service to the public. Tasks include assisting with the checkout of materials, issuing library cards, providing technology assistance, recommending materials to customers, promoting library programs and online resources, assisting with the access and use of library resources, and processing payments on customer accounts.

They may also be involved in presenting library programs and assisting at off-site Outreach events. Scheduled work hours will be assigned and could be during any of the following times: 8 AM-8:05 PM Monday through Thursday, 8 AM-6:05 PM Friday and Saturday, and 11:05 AM-8:05 PM Sunday. While schedules will vary, this position will be required to work evenings and weekends.

Evenings and weekends are assigned quarterly, but it is not unusual to work one evening a week and two weekends a month. While all positions are assigned to a primary branch or service unit, staff may be assigned to work at any branch location. Hours may be assigned at multiple branches in a single workday.
