Job description

Do you enjoy staying organized and working in a quiet, welcoming environment? The Allen County Public Library is looking for a Part-Time Shelver to join our team at the Grabill Branch.

This position is 12 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday for approximately 2–3 hours each day, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent part-time work that fits around other commitments.

In this role, you'll help keep our collection organized and accessible, ensuring patrons can easily find the books, movies, and materials they're looking for. If you enjoy detail-oriented work and take pride in keeping things in order, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay Range: $11.70–$15.21 per hour

As a Shelver, you'll play an important role in keeping the library running smoothly by:

  • Shelving books, DVDs, and other library materials in their proper locations
  • Retrieving and organizing materials from return carts
  • Keeping shelves neat, orderly, and easy for patrons to browse
  • Assisting with the processing and organization of library materials
  • Helping maintain an inviting library environment
