If you love being part of a creative, enthusiastic team and making a difference in the community and people's lives, this job is for you! The Carnegie offers a warm and welcoming work environment in one of Newnan's most historic buildings.

As a Carnegie Reference Assistant, you will greet patrons, offer computer assistance, copy, fax, and scan assistance, process materials, fulfill City store sales, and reference questions. This position is part-time, 8 hours per week on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings during the school year and Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays in June and July. The most qualified applicant will be proficient in computer usage, including the Internet, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office programs.ย 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs information desk duties

  • Receives and responds to patron inquiries, complaints, and issues in person and over the telephone

  • Processes city store sales, meeting room payments, copies, and faxes; receives money.

  • Performs collection maintenance duties, including processing items, shelving books and other materials, shifting materials, receiving materials, etc.

  • Assists patrons in using library equipment such as computers, copiers, etc.

  • Assists with programming activities and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Customer service experience required
  • Proficient in computer usage, including internet and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to relate well to the public
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Candidate must successfully complete background check, motor vehicle history, and drug screen with a blood alcohol test.

$17.93/hour

This position is part-time (8 hours/week) and not benefit-eligible.
