Job description

Description The City of Aiken is accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant to join our Planning Department. Examples of Duties This position will generally work between 20-25 hours per week. It involves directly assisting the full-time Administrative Assistant with their core responsibilities including the following: Processing of all submitted applications for Planning, DRB, and BZA, and the associated fees, including creation of application folders Sign permit application processing Compilation and editing of all agenda packet materials for Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Design Review Board Preparation of agenda packets for individual board members Preparation of Planning Commission agenda memorandums for submittal to the City Manager's Office (CMO) Purchase order processing and record keeping Oversight of office inventory and ordering of office supplies as needed Answering of office telephones, provision of public information and message taking as needed Helping and directing the public as needed at the front window Scanning of completed Development, BZA, and DRB files into Laserfiche for archiving as time permits Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Associate's degree or two years of related experience (preferred) Valid driver's license Communication and collaboration skills; detail oriented Supplemental Information This position is subject to a criminal background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities.
