Overview:
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Part Time Registered Nurse for the LDRP. This is a night shift position with required call. Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery and will cross train into postpartum. Ideal applicants will have previous charge or supervisory experience.
Hours: Two 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday. The required call is 16-24 hours per 6-week schedule.
Sign on bonus up to $10,000 available for qualified candidates.
LDRP:
Sentara Martha Jeffersons Women's Health includes L&D, and a 24 bed post-partum mother/baby. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Charlottesville, VA, and surrounding areas. The schedule is primarily 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. Awarded as US News Top Maternity Care Hospitals, the LDRP at Sentara Martha Jefferson offers state of the art care while maintaining a personalized experience for all patients.

  • 24 private Mother/Baby and Women's Services rooms
  • Lactation Services available 7 days/week
  • The platform currently has approximately 100 employees across various clinical and support roles.
  • Our RN retention rate is 98%
  • We boast an NTSV CS rate of 18%, the lowest in the Sentara system

Education
  • Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing
  • BSN or MSN Preferred

Certification/Licensure
  • Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Registered nursing license required
  • EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred
  • Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred

Experience
  • 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health preferred
  • Experience in charge roles preferred
  • Labor and Delivery specific Experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols.
  • Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
  • Communication with patients and providers
  • Must want to work night shift
