Short Summary:
The Medical Lab Technologist/Technician is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Testing performed will include waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests as authorized by the director. The Medical Lab Technologist/Technician will report the results of all tests performed according to established procedures. In addition, The Medical Lab Technologist/Technician will participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other applicable agencies. The professional will perform specimen collection as necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Follow the labโ€™s procedure for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results
  • Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples
  • Adhere to the labโ€™s quality control policies, document all quality control activities including all instrument maintenance performed and assimilate data for review and filing
  • Follow the abโ€™s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the labโ€™s established acceptable levels of performance
Requirements:
  • MLT
    • Associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
  • MT
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences, and at least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred
  • 2nd shift (2p.m.-10:30p.m.) Full time
  • 3rd shift (11p.m.-7:00a.m.) Part time
