Job description

Internship Description
The AI for Science Teacher Institute is an immersive weeklong educational experience for high school science teachers held at Argonne National Laboratory. Participants will have the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence and generative AI, their role in scientific discovery, and how they can be thoughtfully and effectively integrated into high school science classrooms. No prior experience with AI is necessary.
As part of the institute, participants will gain hands-on experience with generative AI models, learn how AI is transforming cutting-edge research at Argonne National Laboratory, and collaborate with scientists and fellow educators to develop innovative classroom resources. Following the weeklong August session, participants will continue their learning and professional growth as members of an ongoing virtual learning community, with monthly sessions scheduled throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
These sessions are intended to create space for teachers to share their successes and failures with a supportive community engaged in developing effective AI practices for science education.
This program is specifically designed for practicing, high school science teachers with an interest in understanding and integrating AI into their science classrooms.
