Job description

MLT/MLS (Partial-PT) | Lab | Marshalltown

Obtains and processes blood, urine and other specimens. Performs routine and advanced lab procedures. Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Performs and reviews quality control procedures in assigned work areas. Ability to work in the following areas: Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunochemistry, Special testing, Specimen processing, Quality Control/Quality Assurance. Files and keeps adequate records according to departmental procedures. Performs related work as required.

This is a partial-part time position.

Education: Bachelor's degree in science or medical technology/clinical Lab Science from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a recognized course of study in MLT/MLS/CLS.

Certification/Licenses: Certification in MT/MLS (ASCP) or certification in MLT (ASCP) and/or eligibility for certification in MT/MLS (ASCP). Certification or eligibility for certification as MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA) or equivalent. Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers. Mandatory Reporter of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse.

Days: Monday - Friday. Hours: Variable hours between 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

Prefer 1 year of experience. Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
