Why Instructors Love Teaching with ActivStars Athletics

  • Teach your own martial arts style. Must be traditional-based with kata/form knowledge.
  • Competitive pay based on enrollment.
  • Flexible schedule, typically one to two evenings per week.
  • Paid training provided.
  • Opportunity to make a real impact in kids' lives.
  • Opportunities to participate in tournaments, camps, and events.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for experienced martial artists who want to teach without the responsibilities of running their own school.

Instructor Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a Black Belt in a traditional forms-based martial art.
  • Must be familiar with kata or forms based on traditional style.
  • Applicants should have training in Karate, Taekwondo, Kenpo, Kung Fu, or a similar system.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have reliable transportation to travel to class locations.
  • Candidates should enjoy working with children and families.
  • Ideal candidates have a strong technical foundation, leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring young students.

What You'll Do

  • Teach martial arts classes for beginner through advanced youth students.
  • Create a fun, positive, and structured learning environment.
  • Manage student attendance and class check-in.
  • Maintain basic class records.
  • Encourage participation in ActivStars Athletics tournaments, camps, and special events.

All new instructors receive paid training, including ActivStars Athletic teaching methods, curriculum guidelines, record-keeping procedures, and hands-on mentoring with a veteran instructor.

Schedule

  • Weekday evenings, typically between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Most instructors teach one to two nights per week, with opportunities to add more classes if desired.

Pay

  • $15 to $30+ per hour.
  • Pay is based on student enrollment.
  • Typical earnings are $300 to $400 per month, teaching just one evening per week.
  • Additional earnings are available to instructors who teach at multiple locations.

Perfect for college students with martial arts experience, black belts who have full-time careers, parents with martial arts backgrounds, and martial artists who want to teach without running a dojo.

If you love martial arts and want to help shape the next generation of students, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and join the ActivStars Athletics instructor team.
