Systems Engineer
The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in simulation training environments for the United States military? You understand your customer's environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission.
As a Systems Engineer on our team, you'll use your experience in network design and architecture, information assurance, group policy and account management, virtualization, installation and configuration of applications, system administration and updates, and automation to lead a team of engineers focusing on network modernization on an inherited, legacy infrastructure. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. On our team, you'll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues on a training environment and analyze current working infrastructures to understand how to make improvements and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering
  • Experience managing complex projects from initiation to completion, while coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Experience in Windows Server or Linux operating systems
  • Ability to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of critical enterprise IT infrastructure, including server, storage, virtualization, and cloud environments
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic roadmaps for systems technology evolution
  • Ability to assist with establishing and enforcing system configuration, change management, and security policies across the server landscape
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working in the special operations community
  • Experience architecting and implementing high-availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions to ensure maximum system uptime and business continuity
  • Experience driving automation initiatives across system deployment, monitoring, and maintenance using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
  • Experience performing capacity planning and performance monitoring to proactively address potential bottlenecks and recommend appropriate scaling solutions
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents, and implementing corrective and preventive measures to minimize future disruptions
  • Experience with expert-level administration and troubleshooting of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage and backup solutions such as SAN, NAS, object storage, Veeam, and Commvault
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management systems

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
