Our organization, the largest integrated health system in New Jersey, is actively looking for Physician Advisors for part-time roles at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway. The Physician Advisor will collaborate closely with both local and corporate administration, the medical team, and the leadership of the case management department. This collaboration aims to deliver a thorough clinical resource management program that encompasses utilization management, care progression management, social work services, and intricate discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and upholding a standardized approach for Physician Advisor Services:
- Throughput/Length of Stay
- Observation Hours
- Planning for Next Site of Care
- Facilitating multidisciplinary rounds
- Engaging in the evaluation and formulation of medical guidelines and policies aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency of care.
Performance Metrics
- Achieving Defined Length of Stay Goals:
- Medicare Length of Stay aligned with Geometric/Arithmetic Benchmarks
- Commercial Length of Stay
- Meeting Organizational Targets for Observation Hours
- Achieving Goals related to Next Site of Care
Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible with a valid New Jersey License
- Minimum of 2 years of Clinical Practice Experience
- Prior experience in Utilization Management within an Acute Care Environment
- Leadership experience is essential
- CHCQM certification required
- Familiarity with CMS Regulations and Nationally Accepted Guidelines such as MCG and InterQual
- Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Strong Computer Proficiency
- Excellent Organizational Skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $135,000 annually.
The final compensation offered will be influenced by various factors, including the candidate's educational qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
