TITLE: ESH Hazardous Waste/Material Coordinator
REPORTS TO: ESH Manager, Project Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PAY RANGE: $25.00-$35.00 per hour DOE
FT / PT STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION:
SUMMARY
Responsible for all aspects of Hazardous Waste/Material (HW/HM) management, handling and storage requirements for International Marine and Industrial Applicators, LLC (IMIA) during the accomplishment of work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and process HW/HM to ensure compliance with customer, company, State, Federal and environmental policies, and regulations.
  • Conduct and document Daily & Weekly Inspections of HW/HM Storage Areas
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Primary job function typically requires exercising independent judgment and attention to detail.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • None

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures with regards to HW/HM and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents relevant to customer, company, local, state and federal safety & environmental regulations as necessary, such as Waste Information Sheets, Safety Data Sheets & HW/HM rules and regulations, procedures, etc.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and productively with other employees and facility owner/customer personnel
  • Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
  • Must have general working knowledge of federal and State local regulations within the marine industry

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Formal or informal on the job training and 2-year experience in the Marine Coating Industry or Maritime HW/HM Industry
  • High School diploma or equivalent

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, occasionally required to sit; required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to feel, grip, or handle; regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, or more infrequently;
  • Required use of respirators during HW/HM Processing when required.
  • Most work performed will be onboard a ship, in a dry dock or shipyard under fast- paced conditions
  • Frequently requires overtime.
  • Consistent exposure to outdoor elements, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals and dusty conditions.
