Class Summary
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
Job DescriptionThis Part-time Clerk is responsible for provide front-line customer service responding to phone calls and emails from public with professional, timely, and courteous communication. In addition, will be responsible for performing a variety of basic clerical office functions, which may include updating spreadsheets, creating simple documents, typing, filing, copying, faxing, opening, sorting, and distributing mail, and/or performing other related activities. The ideal candidate will need a thorough understanding of the assigned area, and be flexible, all while providing exceptional customer service and working well under pressure.
Essential Duties
  • Conducting tours of the senior center
  • Operating computers and applicable software
  • Tracking participation numbers for the senior center activities
  • Checking in on seniors for lunch
  • Scheduling transportation for the senior center participants
  • Interacting with co-workers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to provide sufficient information and receive work direction
  • Processing payments and registrations for classes/activities
  • Interacting with senior center participants and volunteers
Public Speaking Duties
  • Making announcements to large groups
  • Providing information about services to the general public

Hourly rate
Salary will be $15.75 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED AND
  • One year of general office/customer service experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
