Your Role in Our Mission


As a Hospice Homemaker Aide, you are a vital member of our Interdisciplinary Team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide personal care and supportive services in accordance with each patient’s individualized Plan of Care.

You are often the caregiver who spends the most meaningful time with our patients.

What You Will Do


Personal Care Services

  • Assist with bathing (bed, shower, tub)
  • Provide grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene
  • Support toileting and incontinence care
  • Safely assist with transfers and repositioning
  • Provide ambulation assistance
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition

Comfort & Supportive Care

  • Change bed linens
  • Light housekeeping of the patient’s immediate area
  • Prepare simple meals for the patient
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and dignified care environment

✅ Qualifications 


To join our team, you must:
  • Be listed in good standing on the Virginia Nurse Aide Registry
    OR

  • Have successfully completed a state-approved nurse aide training program meeting federal hospice aide requirements

Additionally:
  • Demonstrated competency in personal care and infection control
  • Completion of at least 12 hours of in-service training annually

  • CPR certification 
  • Compliance with Virginia background screening requirements
  • Reliable transportation and able to drive with a valid VA driver's license

  • Opportunity for FULL-TIME position.

At Enlight Hospice, you are never alone.
  • You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • RN supervisory visits occur at least every 14 days in compliance with CMS and ACHC standards.
  • You are supported by a full interdisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and leadership.
