What is a part time holistic practitioner?

A Part Time Holistic practitioner is a professional who uses natural and alternative therapies to support clients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, but works less than full-time hours. Their approach focuses on treating the whole person, not just specific symptoms, using methods such as nutrition counseling, massage, meditation, and herbal remedies. Working part-time allows these practitioners to maintain flexibility in their schedules while still helping clients achieve balance and wellness.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time holistic practitioner?

To thrive as a Part-Time Holistic Health Practitioner, you need a solid understanding of holistic health principles, wellness coaching, and often a relevant certification or training in modalities like massage, nutrition, or aromatherapy. Familiarity with scheduling software, client management systems, and knowledge of various holistic assessment tools are important technical skills. Excellent listening, empathy, and interpersonal communication help foster strong client relationships and trust. These abilities are crucial for delivering effective, individualized care and building a loyal client base in a competitive wellness industry.

What are some common challenges part time holistic practitioners face, and how can they overcome them?

Part-time holistic practitioners often face challenges in balancing client scheduling with other commitments, building a steady client base, and staying updated with new holistic techniques. Life Push, LLC is on the lookout for driven, qualified candidates ready to join a company that's changing outcomes for at-risk youth and their families. We're expanding our team and hiring a new Holistic Youth & Family Advisor (HYFA) to serve communities in Lynchburg, Appomattox County, Campbell County, Amherst County, and the surrounding areas. This role kicks off as part-time, with a clear runway to full-time as our team and caseload grow.
Along with room to advance, this position comes with competitive pay and a genuine path toward leadership. Life Push exists to pursue something larger than any one of us, helping families build lasting, positive change from the ground up. If you're driven by purpose and want work that matters, we'd love to connect with you.
Our Purpose
We're dedicated to improving outcomes for at-risk youth (ages 5-21) and their families as they work through significant barriers to success. By fostering healthy family balance, honest communication, and sustainable growth, we help families build a stronger foundation, supporting reunification whenever that's the right outcome.
What You'll Do
As a Holistic Youth & Family Advisor, you'll work directly with at-risk youth, families, students, and parents in-home or community-based settings, providing hands-on, person-centered support. Core responsibilities include:
  • Attending all service trainings to become qualified and certified in assigned treatment modalities
  • Meeting with assigned clients for agreed-upon time frames and maintaining expected service hours
  • Providing the specific services you've been trained and certified to deliver
  • Building trusting, supportive relationships with clients to encourage positive behavioral and emotional growth
  • Offering supportive strategies and practical techniques to help youth and families meet their identified goals
  • Acting as a resource and guide for youth and their parents or legal guardians as they navigate single or multiple barriers to success
  • Identifying barriers to success - academic, behavioral, social, or family-related - and connecting clients with appropriate resources
  • Supporting family reunification efforts when applicable, working toward safe, sustainable outcomes
  • Supporting each youth's right to self-determination and independence, while accepting and relating to youth whose lifestyles or values may differ from your own
  • Maintaining accurate, high-quality documentation of all sessions, incident reports, and treatment plans
  • Working closely with agency staff, case managers, and other partners through phone contact, in-person conferences, and group meetings
  • Assisting with and participating in special company programs and initiatives
  • Attending company meetings and participating in internal and external presentations
  • Serving as a role model at all times, upholding the Life Push, LLC standard of excellence and person-centered focus

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible hours (afternoons, evenings, and some weekends).
  • Education: Currently pursuing or holding a 4-year degree from an accredited institution in psychology, counseling, human services, sociology, social work, or a related field. Experience needed if you only possess a High School diploma.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide a copy of your current driving record (must be in good standing).
  • Must have reliable transportation with valid insurance.
  • Must be comfortable using computers and learning electronic record systems.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write service and progress reports.
  • Open-minded and culturally responsive, with a willingness to complete company orientation and training prior to being paired with a client.
  • Demonstrated patience, active listening, and self-awareness.
  • Must adhere to all deadlines, documentation standards, and client safety expectations.
