JOB SUMMARY:
Guest Engagement Associates are the first and most consistent point of contact for guests at the Utah Mammoth Practice Facility. This role is essential for creating a welcoming, organized, and helpful arrival experience for all visitors, whether they're attending a public skate, youth event, tournament, or community event. While on shift, staff rotate through key guest-facing positions, including front desk, skate guard, and scorekeeper, supporting both hospitality and on-ice operations as needed. Front desk staff support daily operations by managing check-ins, registrations, and transactions while maintaining a safe, clean, and professional lobby environment. As skate guards and scorekeepers, they help ensure safe skating sessions, accurate game operations, and positive interactions throughout the facility. Through friendly service, clear communication, and attention to detail, this role helps ensure every guest feels oriented, valued, and excited to return.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Customer Service: Greet visitors, answer, and direct phone calls, and respond to inquiries about services, events, and programs.
  • Operations & Registration: Handle check-ins for public skates, leagues, and tournaments, including processing registrations, collecting fees, and handling rental equipment.
  • Administration: Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems for sales, keep accurate records, and update program boards.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Monitor the lobby area, ensure waivers are signed, and maintain a clean and organized front desk.
  • Facility Support: Assist with facility opening and closing, and assist in addressing customer feedback or emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience in customer service or a front desk role is preferred.
  • Prior skating experience required for the skate guard role.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications/POS systems.
  • Familiarity with ice rink operations, hockey, or skating is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Needs to be CPR certified or willing to become certified.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain relationships with a varied group of individuals.
  • Self-starter, with the ability to manage several projects at once, in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Employees must have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as occasional ability to travel to meet potential clients and attend industry conferences.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Position requires the ability to use hands and fingers on office and mobile technology.
  • Position requires the ability to listen and speak on the phone, in meetings, and in one-on-one conversations.
  • Position will work in an office and arena environment; the noise level is usually moderate, but can be loud.
  • The work areas can become crowded with equipment and/or people.
