To thrive as a Part Time Handwriting Specialist, you need excellent penmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to replicate specific handwriting styles, with no formal education usually required but a strong portfolio preferred. Familiarity with various writing instruments and high-quality paper, as well as basic knowledge of digital scanning or editing tools, is often beneficial. Patience, reliability, and effective time management are essential soft skills for meeting project deadlines and maintaining consistency. These skills ensure accuracy, client satisfaction, and the delivery of professional handwritten materials for invitations, calligraphy, or transcription projects.

What are some common challenges faced in part-time handwriting jobs and how can they be managed?

Part-time handwriting roles often require maintaining consistent handwriting quality and accuracy over extended periods, which can be physically demanding and lead to hand fatigue. Managing these challenges involves taking regular breaks, practicing proper hand positioning, and using ergonomically designed writing tools. Additionally, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining neatness can be stressful, so strong time management and organization skills are essential. Collaborating with supervisors for feedback can also help improve technique and efficiency.

Job description

We are expanding our crew of awesome writers to help out when demand is high, and we are looking for a few different qualities. Do you still hand write your notes, grocery lists, and other items? Are you interested in accurately transcribing digital text to handwritten letters? If so, we have a job for you!
We're MailLift - the handwritten letter company, and we've found a way to make old new again. We provide high-touch, personalized campaigns for our clients through handwritten letters.
We currently have an amazing crew of writers, but our company is growing quickly and we need writers to expand the family to help when we have high demand.
If you're just looking to clock hours, this job is NOT for you! We are interested in hiring people who want to help our company succeed by filling this critical role.

We're also looking for someone who is self-directed and can work independently but also works well as part of our team. Comfort with deadlines, time-management, and task organization skills are also very important to us.
Due to the nature of the job, this is a part-time position only. We can schedule handwriters for a maximum of 4 hours per day because you're hand will get tired.
