Spokane International Academy (SIA) is seeking a full-time, dynamic, and student-centered educator to serve as a Kindergarten Teacher. Spokane International Academy is a rigorous K–12 public charter school that empowers students with strong academic skills, essential habits for success, and the global competence needed to become transformative leaders in their communities. At SIA, Kindergarten teachers build a strong foundation in literacy, mathematics, social-emotional learning, and global competence while fostering curiosity, joy, and a love of learning. Our Kindergarten classrooms are highly collaborative, engaging, and developmentally responsive environments where students learn through inquiry, exploration, discussion, and hands-on experiences.

• Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with Washington State Learning Standards and the needs of diverse learners.
• Implement SIA's adopted curriculum, including:
• Fishtank Learning (ELA)
• UFLI Foundations
• Handwriting Without Tears
• Eureka Squared Mathematics
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including cooperative learning, inquiry, structured play, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.

• Integrate global learning and cultural awareness throughout instruction.
• Support students in developing global competence by studying North America, including its geography, cultures, traditions, and communities.
• Foster curiosity, empathy, and respect for diverse perspectives.

• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Establish clear expectations and routines that promote independence, responsibility, and belonging.
• Implement proactive classroom management practices aligned with SIA's REACH values.

• Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data analysis.
• Provide timely feedback to students and families.
• Support students with IEPs, 504 Plans, multilingual learners, and those needing intervention or enrichment.
• Promote social-emotional development, self-regulation, and positive peer relationships.

• Participate actively in PLCs, grade-level teams, professional development, and staff meetings.
• Collaborate with interventionists, special education staff, and school leaders to support student success.
• Contribute positively to school culture and continuous improvement efforts.

• Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication and collaboration.
• Participate in conferences, family events, and school community activities.
• Serve as a positive ambassador for Spokane International Academy.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate K-8 endorsement.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Understanding of data-driven instruction and intervention practices.
• Commitment to inquiry-based learning, global education, and equity.
• Desire to work collaboratively in a Professional Learning Community.
• Passion for Spokane International Academy's mission and educational model.

• Three or more years of elementary teaching experience, preferably in Kindergarten or primary grades.
• Experience with structured literacy and foundational reading instruction.
• Experience in charter schools and/or diverse educational settings.
• Experience supporting multilingual learners and students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to communicate in a language other than English.
• Experience integrating culturally responsive and globally focused teaching practices.
