Job description

Inventory and Kitting Specialists are responsible for inventory management and control of hardware used in assembly operations. These specialists stock items, initiate inventory order requests as needed, and utilize job order information and work instructions to select, count, and accurately assign hardware counts per customer requirements.
Essential Functions
To accomplish this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Reads assembly dispatch lists and creates assembly travelers daily; pulls and issues all hardware & components needed for product assembly
  • Reviews product drawings or blueprints to accurately identify applicable specifications and hardware type/size/material
  • Accurately stocks incoming inventory into designated locations; as needed, performs inventory counts on hardware and assembly components
  • Completes appropriate paperwork and data entry in the ERP system, in compliance with internal processes and quality procedures
  • Operates forklift and other material-handling equipment as required; forklift certification on-site may be required
  • Maintains a clean and organized, safe work area
  • Follows directions consistently and accepts responsibility for his/her actions and work product
  • Complies with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions
  • Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Regular attendance on-site at the work site is required

This role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore, qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):
  • An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship, or
  • An individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), or
  • An individual who is granted status as a "protected person"

Required Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience in a warehouse role performing stocking and/or order picking is preferred

Other Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret dispatch lists and similar work instructions, and to verify counts with 100% accuracy
  • Attention to detail and demonstration of accurate counting, measurement, and associated recordkeeping
  • Ability to accurately read and record measurements within a 1/4 inch increment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Consistently legible handwriting (English)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, and stand for long periods to perform job duties
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Frequently bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers
  • Use hands and fingers to manually inspect, count, and package parts
  • Visual ability to read precise measurements and hardware markings, and to recognize and avoid obstacles to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
