Accounting / Finance Intern

Position Details

Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is seeking a motivated Accounting/Finance Intern to join our team this summer. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare finance while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Position Overview

The Accounting/Finance Intern supports the Finance Department with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and special projects. This role provides valuable exposure to healthcare finance, reimbursement processes, and regulatory standards while helping maintain accurate financial records and efficient workflows.


What You'll Do

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice review and data entry
  • Support general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Help with month-end close activities and financial reports
  • Organize documentation for audits, cost reports, grants, and compliance reviews
  • Track patient revenue, contractual adjustments, and reimbursement data
  • Maintain financial records in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
  • Assist with data analysis, reporting dashboards, and process improvement projects
  • Complete other assigned duties while gaining valuable workplace experience
