What is an internship private equity sales position?

Internship Private Equity Sales positions are entry-level roles designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining experience in the private equity industry, specifically in the area of sales and client relations. Interns typically support senior sales professionals by researching potential investors, preparing pitch materials, assisting in client meetings, and tracking sales activity. These internships provide exposure to the private equity market, investment products, and relationship management, making them valuable for those considering a career in finance or investment sales.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship private equity sales professional?

Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and resilience are standout soft skills for this role. These capabilities are crucial for effectively sourcing deals, supporting client relationships, and contributing to the overall success of private equity fundraising and sales activities.

Job description

Account Executive — Equity Crowdfunding Platform | Fintech | Remote

A well-known fintech platform in the equity crowdfunding space is seeking high-performing Account Executives to help early-stage and growth companies raise capital from retail investors. You'll work directly with founders, move fast, and own your results — no committee, no hand-holding, no ceiling.

The best reps here aren't waiting for leads to come to them. They're building pipeline, converting fast, and stacking commission quarters that most people in financial services will never see.

What the role involves:

  • Converting prospective issuers into paying clients — you close, you earn
  • Self-generating leads alongside inbound pipeline
  • Reporting on activity weekly in a high-accountability culture
  • Working directly with company founders — your wins are visible, your impact is real

What they're looking for:

  • A track record of closing — not managing, not advising, closing
  • Background in financial services sales, required
  • Experience working directly with retail or high-net-worth individual investors
  • Comfortable having financial conversations with sophisticated individual buyers
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 required
  • Familiarity with startups and early-stage companies
  • Someone who runs toward competition, not away from it
  • A communicator who can read a room and move people

Why people love it here:

  • You're not a number — founders know your name and your numbers
  • The category is growing fast and you're in early
  • Equity upside means you share in what you help build
  • Top reps earn $900K. Expected first-year: $300K+

Comp & benefits:

  • $125,000 base salary
  • 100% remote
  • Full medical/dental/vision covered
  • Equity package
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 401K
