Job description

PT Field Service Technician Opportunity

compensation: $18 - $22 per hour (commensurate with experience)
employment type: part-time

A career opportunity is available for a PART-TIME FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN with SNS Enterprise LLC, a technology provider based in Richmond, Virginia.
The Field Technician travels to client locations in response to pre-set service appointments and completes the assigned work request/order. Primary travel territory is Richmond and Central Virginia region.
The role involves providing technical support, repair and service to correct the cited issue as well as documenting the resolution in accordance with specified procedures. Technician may be required to carry/lift tools, equipment (estimate - 40 lbs. and less) and complete repairs using a ladder.
Weekly schedule and work hours will vary based on incoming requests and seasonal coverage, etc. Estimated work hours per week is approximately 20-30 hours with occasional evening, weekend hours necessary as part of the variable schedule.
Candidate must maintain high professional standards in appearance as well as in-person, telephone and electronic communication with clients, SNS Enterprise team members and partner’s operation center employees. While most work is performed “on the road” at client locations, in-office functions are also required. These duties include (in part): Completing service documentation/records; Maintaining equipment inventory; Staff and one-on-one meetings with oversight manager.
High-level Responsibilities of Field Technician:

  • Respond to appointment within established service level agreement response time
  • Provide onsite and remote support and problem-solving
  • Perform basic tasks associated with work order including but are not limited to the following: 1) “Remote hands” support, 2) Interact with internal/external Level 2 support to obtain guidance and direction, when needed, 3) New equipment installations, 4) Completion and timely submission of related documentation, 5) Wiring skills with network, telephone wiring experience preferred
  • Respond to related questions and inquiries - via phone and/or email - on pending, active and completed work orders
  • Review alerts, reports and respond to inquiries related to work performed and/or work order notes, equipment used/needed, equipment inventory and reconciliation
  • Basic computer, small office equipment repair
  • Other duties or tasks assigned by leadership team and/or oversight manager
  • Qualifications and Desired Skills:
  • Genuine interest in technology
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision yet follow specific directives or procedures
  • Ability to handle a wide range of electronic, computer, printer and small office equipment repairs
  • Ability to relay technical information or directions to individuals with little or no technical background
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting/problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Committed to meeting established deadlines, follow-though and follow-up
  • Work experience with ticketing systems and issue documentation, resolution
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with telephone solutions and support
  • Basic experience in a Help Desk or IT support role or environment is helpful
  • Work experience or familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, SharePoint, Linux

Salary range: $18 - $22 per hour, commensurate with experience.
