How much do part time fence jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 18, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time fence in the United States is $20.51, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.83 and $22.60 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to handle as a part-time fence installer?

As a part-time fence installer, your primary responsibilities will include assisting with measuring, cutting, and assembling fencing materials, as well as digging post holes and securing posts. You may also help with transporting materials, site preparation, and cleanup after installation. The work often requires physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions, and you'll likely collaborate closely with a small team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to client specifications.

How much do fencers charge per hour?

Fencers, or fencing contractors, typically charge between $15 and $40 per hour depending on factors such as project complexity, location, and experience. Many also offer flat rates for specific fencing projects and may require tools and materials to be provided or purchased separately.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Part-time fencing jobs typically do not pay $4,000 a week; high earnings in fencing usually come from full-time or specialized roles such as fencing contractors or experienced installers, which may require skills, physical effort, and sometimes certifications. Most part-time jobs with high weekly pay are rare and often involve specialized trades or entrepreneurial work rather than standard part-time positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Fence Installer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Fence Installer, you need basic construction skills, physical stamina, and familiarity with hand and power tools, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience with measuring tools, post-hole diggers, and sometimes specialized fencing equipment is common, while OSHA safety certification can be an asset. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and effective teamwork are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills and qualities ensure fences are installed safely, accurately, and efficiently, meeting client expectations and project standards.

Can you make good money fencing?

Part time fencing can provide supplemental income, with pay typically based on the size and complexity of the project, as well as experience and skill level. While it may not generate full-time earnings, experienced fence installers can earn competitive wages, especially with efficient work and good customer relationships. Additional skills such as knowledge of tools and safety procedures can improve earning potential.

What is the most paying part-time job?

Part-time fencing jobs typically pay between $15 and $30 per hour, depending on experience, location, and project complexity. Skilled trades like fencing installation or repair can offer higher wages, especially for experienced workers or those with specialized certifications. Overall, jobs requiring technical skills or physical labor tend to have higher pay rates in the part-time sector.

What are part time fence jobs?

Part time fence jobs involve working on the installation, repair, and maintenance of fences for residential, commercial, or agricultural properties, but on a part-time basis. Workers may assist in setting posts, attaching panels, and ensuring the fence is properly aligned and secured. These roles are ideal for individuals looking for flexible work hours, and tasks can range from manual labor to more skilled construction work depending on the employer’s needs. Some positions may require experience with tools and outdoor work, but many entry-level opportunities offer on-the-job training. The work is typically performed outdoors and may require physical stamina.
